Self-Reflection
At the end of each course students are asked to self-reflect on the knowledge gained throughout the course and how it will better them as medical dosimetrists.
The new knowledge and skills I gained during this course were all of the legal aspects that play vital roles in radiation oncology and why they are important not only to the staff but also to the patients being treated.
The new knowledge and skills will benefit me by knowing there are limitations to somethings I can do with my new role as a medical dosimetrist and how to successfully make ethically moral decisions in my professional life.
I struggle with some of the legal terms and definitions.
I feel pretty good about the course material as a whole. How the various organizations work to ensure healthcare is held to high standards and carried out by certified professionals.
Other reflective thoughts. This course makes you take a step aside and think about why you are doing what you are doing again. It is not like the rest of the courses where they focus on learning dosimetry methods, it focuses on the reason we do dosimetry at all.
